Gordon Mohs is an anthropologist,
archaeologist, writer and storyteller. He is a graduate of the University of
British Columbia and Simon Fraser University and for 14 years was a Heritage
and Economic Development Advisor for the Aboriginal Rights and Title Department
of the Sto:lo Nation, located in the Fraser Valley in southwest British Columbia,
Canada.Between 1984
& 1987, Mohs assisted the Sto:lo, Nl'akapamux and Secwepemc Tribal Nations
in their political, legal and spiritual struggle to stop the Canadian National
Railway's "Twin Tracking Project", a mega-development that would have
seriously impacted 38 bands, 72 reserves and two river systems spanning the
province of British Columbia.In 1987, Gordon was given the pet name Pop'qoles
(snow-berry bush) by the Coqualeetza Elders and in 1994 received the name Sxwoxwiyam
(legend or story-teller) at a Potlatch hosted by the Sto:lo Nation. He was further
honoured by the Charlie family at Chehalis in the sinter of 1998 with the name
El:Oliye (vision or dreamer), a personal name first presented by Sto:lo Elder
Nancy Phillips in 1994. Gordon is of Xwelitem ancestry, but considers himself
Xwelmexw inside.Mohs is a human rights advocate and has lectured internationally
on Sto:lo spirituality and spiritual sites. Devil's Run is his first
novel. Gordon lives in Mission City with his wife Ann and sons Ferren and Simon.

Inspector, Eddie Julian, needs a break in his fishing case. The thefts of Indian
